For my lovely pi

By frankensteining several wiki and stack overflow answers, I am able to make a functional AppImage for my raspberry pi 5 running debian 12.
This is NOT the proper way you should get OpenUtau running on your device, shit happens, you have been warned. I am not going to post this to AppImage Hub.

Why you should not use it:

  1. Only tested on pi flavored debian12, there must be libraries missing. If your met such case, post a issue in this repo.
  2. Binaries are stolen from here. The theft itself is bad enough, not to mention I packed it manually. These repackaging steps should be done by a proper CI pipeline like OBS.
  3. It may not be of latest version, I am not a CI robot

Reproduce guide

  1. download latest openutau release, in this case, https://github.com/stakira/OpenUtau/releases/download/0.1.543/OpenUtau-linux-arm64.zip
  2. create a new folder OpenUtau.AppDir, follow appimage manual packaging guide, fill it up as steps below
  3. download AppRun here, in this case AppRun-arm64. rename it to AppRun then place under OpenUtau.AppDir
  4. download this desktop file and place under OpenUtau.AppDir. Change Multimedia to X-Multimedia, since appimagetool doesn't know this category. Change Exec line to Exec=bin/OpenUtau, because I am too lazy to set path variables
  5. Extract OpenUtau-linux-arm64.zip to OpenUtau.AppDir/usr/bin, this folder should contain a OpenUtau binary that just runs. double check, make sure it works.
  6. grap OpenUtau logo svg and convert it to png, or steal it here, name it openutau.png, place under OpenUtau.AppDir

your folder should looks like this now
image

  1. finally the moment of truth, get appimage tool here, in my case appimagetool-aarch64.AppImage, give exec permission by chmod appimagetool-aarch64.AppImage +x. Now, pack your AppImage by appimagetool-aarch64.AppImage /your/path/to/OpenUtau.AppDir, and, voila! you should get a openutau.AppImage under OpenUtau.AppDir in seconds.
