What's New
Azahar Support for Nintendo 3DS
Nintendo 3DS emulation is now available in tico via Azahar, bringing support for a large portion of the 3DS library.
Supported ROM formats:
.3ds, .3dsx, .z3dsx, .elf, .axf, .cci, .zcci, .cxi, .zcxi, .app
Shader Compilation
Shaders are compiled on a game's first launch and then cached, so subsequent launches load with improved visual stability and reduced stuttering.
Quick Hotkeys
- L + Minus — Change screen orientation
- ZL + Minus — Change screen layout
These are also available from the quick menu by pressing + and − in-game.
Fixes
- Fixed alphabetical ordering in console emulator settings
- Fixed a bug where resuming from a core would cause a crash
Wants to Contribute?
All emulator cores have dedicated repositories under the tico GitHub organization, making development, issue tracking, and contributions easier.
Bug reports, feature requests, and pull requests for the cores are welcome. Please respect each core's original license and attribution requirements.
Warning
The first time you launch a 3DS game, Azahar builds its shader cache. During this process you may see temporary visual artifacts — blue/gray flashes, missing geometry, or incomplete 3D rendering. This is expected and only affects initial runs; it resolves once the cache is built.
Tip
Most games run well at stock clocks, but demanding titles may benefit from a moderate CPU overclock for smoother performance.
Note
This is the first release of 3DS support. As with any new core, you may run into bugs or unsupported edge cases, bug reports are welcome and help improve things going forward.
