OFXR Bridge v0.2.1 (V116) — Compatibility Preview

Choose a tag to compare

@tig3rmast3r tig3rmast3r released this 15 Sep 20:53

This release focuses on improved compatibility and stability across more
OpenXR games and VR mods.

What's improved

  • Improved compatibility with UEVR.
  • Added support for UEVR AFW configurations.
  • Improved UEVR Native Stereo compatibility.
  • Improved compatibility with Luke Ross VR mods.
  • Improved SteamVR frame pacing and stability, especially at high headset
    resolutions and GPU loads.
  • Improved handling of recentering, resolution changes and swapchain
    recreation.
  • Improved support for games running with administrator privileges.
  • Improved Arm, Disarm and tray shutdown cleanup, including stale
    registrations left by previous versions.
  • Added a purple diagnostic rectangle when the Bridge flight recorder and FPS
overlay are enabled. Its purpose is to verify whether generated frames are
    actually reaching the headset.

This is still an experimental pre-release and compatibility is not universal.
Please report both working and non-working games through
GitHub Issues or the
Flat2VR Modding Discord, including an OFXR flight
log when available.

Reported results are collected in the
OFXR Bridge Compatibility Chart.

OFXR Bridge v0.2.0 (V068) — Compatibility Preview

@tig3rmast3r tig3rmast3r released this 07 Sep 20:10

This pre-release focuses on frame delivery and compatibility. It may still
fail to activate, show artifacts, freeze or crash.

What's new

  • SteamVR presenter pacing and buffering changes targeting dropped synthetic
frames under heavy GPU load, including high-resolution MSFS 2024 setups.
  • D3D11 context protection and support for optional OpenXR frame-info pointers,
addressing compatibility problems reported with UEVR and Luke Ross mods.
  • Resource-lifetime fixes for queued frames when spaces or swapchains are
destroyed, including recenter and cleanup paths.
  • Consistent internal build identity across the DLL, tray and runtime cache.

Thanks to djules75 for
PR #3 and headset testing.
Optical-flow algorithms and the FPS overlay are unchanged from V066.

Before updating

Close the game and previous OFXR tray, extract the complete archive, then run
the new tray and arm it before starting the game. Run the game without
administrator privileges.

22/22 automated tests pass, but compatibility is not universal. Windows 10
no-load/no-log reports and the reported UEVR D3D12 crash remain unresolved.
See the integration notes
for validation limits.

Some FPS counters measure application frames before OFXR and may show roughly
half its output. OFXR's own counter measures accepted OpenXR submissions, not
physical headset scanout.

Please report working and non-working games through
GitHub Issues or the
Flat2VR Modding Discord, with an OFXR flight log
when available. Reports without a log are welcome too.

OFXR Bridge v0.1.1 (V066) — Compatibility Preview

Choose a tag to compare

@tig3rmast3r tig3rmast3r released this 06 Sep 20:57

This pre-release is primarily intended to collect compatibility feedback across
different games, OpenXR runtimes and VR mods.

Please report both working and non-working games through GitHub Issues or the
Flat2VR Modding Discord, attaching an OFXR flight
log when possible. Your feedback will help improve compatibility for the next
release.

What's new with 0.1.1

  • Added FPS Overlay, the color indicates if is active (GREEN) or inactive (RED)
  • Preliminary support for Nvidia (fast) route, you may gain a few fps more with this, please report if it shows strange artifacts.

Some FPS counters, including xrFPS, Luke Ross counter, FPSVR and so on show roughly half the frames actually submitted to the headset
while frame generation is active, use OFXR internal FPS Counter for correct measurements.

OFXR tends to detach when using very high (4000+) resolution under heavy load, we are investigating.

I've made a compatibility sheet, feel free to add your tested games, thank you!!
