TigerGraph GraphRAG v2.0.3
GraphRAG 2.0.3 adds conversation management to the chat sidebar, improves agentic answers to multi-part and follow-up questions, and fixes ingestion, document search, and contextual search issues.
What's New
- Conversation management — each conversation in the chat sidebar can be deleted on its own, several can be selected and deleted together, and Clear all removes the whole history.
- Multi-part and follow-up questions — in Agentic mode, multi-part questions are answered more completely, follow-ups use the context of the conversation, and an ambiguous follow-up gets a short clarifying question.
Changed
- Migration Assistant schema check — Repair is offered for graphs created with GraphRAG 1.4 or later; an older graph is reported as needing to be recreated.
- Agentic answer cost — less duplicated content is sent to the model, which lowers token cost.
Bug Fixes
- Large retrievals — answers stay within the chat model's input limit instead of failing.
- Agentic mode — Agentic mode is used only with models that support it, tool calls from Gemini models stay under the agent's control, and answers with OpenAI models return faster and use fewer tokens.
- Document ingestion — tables in
.docxfiles are included in the knowledge graph, and files that cannot be read (including legacy.docfiles and empty spreadsheets) are listed with the reason while the rest of the upload is processed. - Contextual search — each passage is returned once at its correct position, and the selected search options take effect as requested.
- API access — document search requires access to the requested graph and returns results from that graph, and the query-with-history API keeps each caller's conversation separate.
- Rebuild with token sign-in — knowledge-graph rebuilds started from a token sign-in complete normally.
- MCP server deletion — deleting a server asks for confirmation and is saved, and Cancel leaves the server unchanged.
- Trace Logs — search steps report how much they retrieved, and shortened outputs are clearly marked.
Upgrade notes
- Chat-history service — update the chat-history service together with GraphRAG, since conversation deletion requires the 2.0.3 version. Back up the chat-history database before replacing the service, so existing conversations are kept.
- Migration Assistant Repair — run Repair for each existing graph to apply the contextual-search fix. Graphs created before GraphRAG 1.4 must be recreated instead.
token_limitsetting — a token limit of0or unset now means the chat model's own input limit, not unlimited. Set a positivetoken_limitto choose a lower cap.- API callers — query-with-history callers send their own conversation in an optional
historylist. Document-search callers without access to the requested graph receive an authentication error.
