Release list
mdeck 3.14.0
Presenting from an iPad
- Neither bar covers the slide in the presenter view: the slide sits below the bar and above the open drawing toolbar, as large as fits, and takes the toolbar's strip back while it is folded. Both bars are a little smaller there.
- The drawing toolbar starts open.
- Without full screen, the view fits the part of the window Safari shows.
- A bin beside a selection of strokes deletes it, without opening the toolbar.
- An iPad that is no longer paired, after a restart of
mdeck runor Unpair, says so instead of keeping its slide changes, drawings and polls to itself. - Pairing codes and join links use the laptop's address of now, after it moved to another network, and say when no other device can reach it.
Command line
mdeck --help lists the commands, one line each; mdeck <command> --help shows a command's options.
Launch page
Answers and drawings are dropped at once, without asking and without a backup.
Fixed
- After a restart of
mdeck run, a presenter view opened or reloaded no longer takes the projector back to the first slide. - Since 3.13.0, opening or reloading the presenter view on an iPad took the laptop back to the first slide when nobody had changed slides for 15 s.
- Two quick language switches (L, L) could leave a slide in the language before.
- The join code shown with J on a paired iPad now shows in the audience window and on phones following the talk.
- Two things circled with the laser one after the other are no longer joined by a line.
Update your poll server too for the 15 s fix when you present through it.
Update with npm install -g mdeck. Every change in detail in CHANGELOG.md.
mdeck 3.13.0
Data on slides
<data> holds a table of numbers as CSV, in the slide or in a file beside the deck, and shows it as a table or, with show="…", as a bar, line, scatter, stat, heatmap or dumbbell chart in the palette's colours. mdeck check says what is wrong with the data. Ways to show data are extensions (dataview) you can write yourself.
Launch page
- Drop kept poll answers, one question or all.
- A new Drawings section lists the slides drawn on and drops their drawings, with a backup.
- The header lists the deck's languages.
Presenting
- Fixed: a new presenter view no longer says "Phones follow another screen" because of a talk given earlier on the same server.
- The default reactions leave out 🐢.
Update your poll server too for the fix.
Update with npm install -g mdeck. Every change in detail in CHANGELOG.md.
mdeck 3.12.1
New and improved
mdeck --version(or-v) shows which mdeck this is.- Shorter status lines in the presenter view: "Poll server needs an update to 3.12.1.", "Phones follow another screen. Change slide to take them back."
Fixed
- Fixed: on an iPhone the reaction buttons sat below the visible part of the phones' page, behind Safari's bar. The page now fits the visible height. Update your poll server for this one.
- Fixed: with polls on your own server, the presenter view counted no phones: they join that server, while the presenter view's room stays on your computer.
mdeck runnow asks the server how many phones joined.
Update with npm install -g mdeck. Details in CHANGELOG.md.
