Safety and Academic-Use Statement

RigidFlightLab is an academic simulation built for published- benchmark reproduction and numerical methods education only.

What this project IS

  • An offline, educational 6-DOF rigid-body flight dynamics simulator.
  • A tool for reproducing the qualitative results (trajectory shape, spin decay, epicyclic pitch/yaw motion, angle-of-attack behavior) of a published academic paper on spinning-projectile dispersion analysis.
  • A teaching aid for numerical integration methods (RK4, adaptive Runge-Kutta, etc.) applied to rigid-body dynamics.

What this project IS NOT

  • NOT a fire-control system.
  • NOT a targeting tool.
  • NOT an operational artillery calculator.
  • NOT validated for real-world fire-control use.
  • Does not provide real-world firing recommendations, aim solutions, weapon-deployment guidance, or target-engagement capability.
  • Contains no target-coordinate input, aim correction, live-fire recommendation, artillery firing-table generation, military operational-planning features, or optimization for maximum range or accuracy.

Intended audience

Graduate/PhD-level students and researchers studying 6-DOF rigid-body flight dynamics, exterior ballistics theory, and numerical simulation methods.
