Still 1.1

Screen care, clearer settings, and a German interface.

New

• Optional pixel shift: the clock jumps a few pixels every twenty minutes to spread wear on OLED panels. The jump is instant rather than a visible drift.
• Info icons in the settings explain the less obvious options on hover
• The app interface is now available in German alongside English

Changed

• The screensaver no longer offers a configure sheet. Settings written there landed in the screensaver sandbox's own container, where the app never read them, so the companion app is now the only settings surface.

Requires macOS 14 or later. Signed and notarized.

Still 1.0

The first release of Still — a quiet macOS screensaver that shows the time and little else.

Clock

• Digits, or the time spelled out in words — idiomatic in English and German, spelled-out numbers elsewhere
• Clock language selectable independently of the system language
• Four typefaces, three positions, optional seconds and 12/24-hour time

Appearance

• Seven themes: Ink, Paper, Glass, Mono CRT, Dusk, Solar, Midnight
• Mono CRT with four phosphor colours and scanlines
• Themes can follow the arc of the day, computed from the wall clock alone
• Optional dimming between 21:00 and 05:00

Overlay

• Optional date line
• Progress bar for the current day, week or year

Companion app

• Settings with a live preview, and one button to install the screensaver

No account, no analytics, no network access. Requires macOS 14 or later. Signed and notarized.
