TodayStrip 1.0.1

@timk2003 timk2003 released this 20 Aug 22:21

Fixes calendar and location access, which never worked in 1.0.

Fixed

  • Calendar access could not be granted at all. With the Hardened Runtime enabled, macOS requires the com.apple.security.personal-information.calendars entitlement even for an app that is not sandboxed. Without it the system silently refuses to show the permission prompt and reports nothing back to the app, so clicking "Allow calendar access" did nothing at all.
  • Location access was broken the same way, which affected weather for anyone using the current location rather than a place picked in Settings.

If you installed 1.0, replace it with this build — macOS will ask for calendar access on the next launch.

Requires macOS 14 or later. Signed and notarized.

Everything that matters about today, in one line of your menu bar.

The strip

  • One item at a time, rotating by relevance, with a cross-fade between them
  • A meeting minutes away or a running timer pins the strip until it resolves
  • Scroll over the strip to step through manually

Modules

  • Next event: leads with your free time when the meeting is far off, counts down inside the last hour, and joins Zoom/Meet/Teams/Webex with one click when the call is imminent
  • Timer: countdown with presets, or a stopwatch
  • Weather: reports rain starting within the hour or frost tonight, and stays quiet otherwise
  • Focus, battery, and a one-line note per day

Automation

  • ⌥⌘T opens the panel, ⌥⌘R starts or pauses the timer — no Accessibility permission needed
  • A todaystrip:// URL scheme for Shortcuts, Raycast or a shell script

Requires macOS 14 or later. Signed and notarized.
