A significant leap forward in streaming stability and integration performance. This milestone release introduces a robust HLS streaming architecture and resolves long-standing playback issues.

Major Improvements

  • Endless Streaming: Implemented an internal proxy view for dynamic stream URL redirection. This fixes the issue where video streams would time out after approximately 90 seconds due to expired authentication tokens.
  • HLS Architecture: Transitioned to full HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) support, providing a more reliable and modern playback experience.
  • High-Performance Snapshots: Added FFmpeg-powered still image support with per-instance throttling to ensure system stability even with many webcams active.

Reliability & Stability

  • Proactive Session Management: Isolated AIOHTTP sessions per instance to prevent cross-contamination and improve error recovery.
  • Improved Parsing: Enhanced the BeautifulSoup-based scraper for more resilient data extraction from SkylineWebcams.
  • Manifest Optimization: Added missing http and stream dependencies to ensure seamless HACS installation and Home Assistant integration.

Technical Changes

  • Switched to an internal proxy strategy instead of proactive token refreshing for better resource efficiency.
  • Refined the configuration flow for better usability.
  • Optimized manifest keys for standard compliance.
