Learn about vigilant mode.

Brings the Python connector in line with the backend and the TypeScript connector, and adds a check that keeps both connectors in step with the backend before each release. No changes to the backend's API.

Connector

  • Add add_command, update_command and remove_command to the Python connector, to change one command without replacing the whole list.
  • Add settings_callback to listen in the Python connector, which gets the settings each time any client changes them.
  • Fail get_data in the Python connector as soon as the backend answers with no data for a module, rather than after the timeout.
  • Wait up to 35 seconds for Bluetooth actions in the Python connector, as the backend allows 30 for a device to connect.
  • Wait for the backend's reply to media_control in the Python connector.
  • Fix getFile in the TypeScript connector, which read GET_FILE replies with the GET_FILES schema and failed. It now returns FileDetails.

Web client

  • Show media control results inside the player card.

Moved

  • Remove application_update and the Update model from the Python connector, as the backend no longer handles APPLICATION_UPDATE.
  • Remove the SEEK, REWIND, FASTFORWARD, SHUFFLE and REPEAT media actions and MediaControl.value from the Python connector, as the backend never supported them.
  • Remove base from MediaGetFile, which the backend never used, and the BAD_KEY alias from EventSubType in the Python connector.

Maintenance

  • Add mise run drift:connectors, which compares both connectors with the backend's events, replies, enums and models.
