Charmera v1.4.0
charmera-mcp v0.2.0 — token-cost reductions in the MCP surface
A bundled MCP refresh aimed at making curated imports cheaper to run when an LLM is in the loop.
What's new
read_photoreturns 320px thumbnails by default. Newpurpose: "orientation" | "review"parameter —"orientation"(the default) returns a downscaled JPEG that's roughly 10× smaller than the full file but plenty for orientation/composition decisions. Use"review"when you need full resolution.- New
read_photosbatch tool. One call → labeled thumbnails for N paths. Covers a whole roll's worth of orientation decisions in a single tool call instead of N parallel ones. rotate_photogainsverify: true. Returns a thumbnail of the rotated result in the same response, eliminating the follow-upread_photoround-trip when you're chasing the right rotation.read_gallery_datagainsmode: "filenames". Returns a flat filename array — best for collision checks; drops timestamp/url/type/hash.push_to_gallerydrops the deprecateddataJsonEntries(full-replace escape hatch). UseappendEntries+removeEntryFilenamesfor partial updates, orcommit_curated_filesfor typical curated flows.
Notes
- Source changes live entirely in
app/charmera-mcp/main.swift; no behavior changes to the menu-bar app itself. - Helper:
thumbnailJPEG(path:maxDim:)shells out tosips -Z N -s format jpegand writes to a temp path before returning the bytes.
