Smack 0.2.0 for the Hermetic Alchemy Lab V2 — beta.

What's new since 0.1.0:

  • USB audio interface (Settings → USB port → Audio): 2 in (J1/J2) and 2 out (J9/J10) at 48 kHz / 24-bit, no driver on macOS; the engine is bypassed in this mode.
  • Controllers (USB port → Launchpad), through a powered USB-C hub/dongle: Novation Launchpad Mini MK3, Launch Control XL, and a Haute42 (or other GP2040-CE pad) in XInput mode, up to three at once.
  • Haute42 punch effects: every button holds an effect while pressed.
  • The USB mode is one setting for every firmware on the card (/alchemy/usb.cfg); hold B1 at power-up for Mac mode once.

Install:

  1. Hold B3 at power-on (update mode), then flash the .bin with Hermetic's web programmer or dfu-util -a 0 -s 0x90040000:leave -D smack_alchemy.bin.
  2. For firmware switching from the card, put all three — Mark, Smack, Belt — in /alchemy on the microSD card and pick from Settings.

Before you install:

  • V2 only.
  • Smack keeps its working state in preset slot 12: anything saved there by another firmware is overwritten when Smack first saves.
  • Played on one module so far; USB audio tested on macOS only. Custom firmware — Hermetic Modular did not write or test it; please report problems as issues here, not to them.
