Aegis v0.1.0 — first release 🎉

The first public release of Aegis, a friendly Windows app for managing your EmuCoach Mists of Pandaria server. Back up your database, manage accounts and characters, install add-ons, schedule automatic backups, and more — all with simple buttons. No command line, no HeidiSQL, no SQL knowledge needed.

Install

  1. Download Aegis_0.1.0_x64-setup.exe below.
  2. Double-click it to install.
  3. Open Aegis from your Start menu or desktop.

The first time you run it, Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" — that's normal for a small free tool. Click More info → Run anyway. You'll only need to do this once.

What's in this release

  • 🩺 Health dashboard — at-a-glance status with plain-English fixes for anything that's wrong.
  • 🚀 Server control — start / stop / restart MySQL, authserver, worldserver from one screen, including a graceful save-and-shutdown for the worldserver via Remote Access. One click to open worldserver.conf in your editor.
  • 👥 Account management — create accounts, set GM levels, reset passwords and delete accounts, all through Remote Access. If RA refuses a high GM level, Aegis offers a guarded direct-DB override.
  • 🧙 Character backup & import — back up one or all characters, and import a .pdump onto any account. Aegis computes a safe character ID across every character_* table so orphan-row collisions can't break the import.
  • 💾 One-click backups + schedule — full DB backup via the bundled mysqldump, plus daily/weekly auto-rotation via Windows Task Scheduler. There's also a "Website data only" mode for the registration portal's web_* tables.
  • ♻️ Safe restore — auto safety-backup first, typed confirmation, refuses while the server is running (polled live so the gate opens the moment you stop it).
  • 🔧 Database maintenance — Analyze / Optimize / Check & repair, plus a live size summary across every database with a total.
  • 🧩 Add-ons — your MoP_GM panel featured at the top, plus 14 popular community add-ons (DBM, WeakAuras, Bagnon, Details!, OmniCC, Recount, AtlasLoot, Bartender4, Gatherer, TellMeWhen, Skada, NPCScan, Quartz, Postal) bundled with the installer and installable offline.
  • 🧰 Other tools — quick links to the wider Aegis-ecosystem tools (the AI assistant, the in-game GM panel, the registration website, the Telegram monitor).
  • ⚙️ Auto-detect everything — content-based folder detection finds your repack / _Server / WoW client even with renamed install folders, and every path field has a native Browse button.

Future updates

Aegis can update itself from inside the app — when there's a new version, just click About → Check for updates and it'll install over the existing copy.

  • Still stuck? Open an issue and attach your log from %APPDATA%\Aegis\logs — passwords are redacted automatically.
