Limitations

Wianu displays each provider's website in Apple's WebKit engine. The streaming provider (not Wianu) decides whether playback is allowed and which ideo, audio, subtitle, and DRM profiles are offered.

These restrictions can change without a Wianu update because providers update their websites and playback policies independently.

Max (formerly HBO Max)

Max may limit browser playback to 720p for some users, title, regions, or playback configurations - even when the subscription advertises Full HD. The limit is being applied by Max.

Max selects quality automatically and does not provide a manual resolution control. Its official 4K requirements list supported TV and streaming devices; desktop browsers are not listed as supported 4K devices. For higher quality, use an officially supported Max app or playback device when available.

See Max's 4K UHD requirements for its current device, plan, bandwidth, and HDCP requirements.
