What's new

  • Follows After Effects' appearance. The panel matches AE's light or dark mode, and every position of the brightness slider in Preferences → Appearance, live as you change it. By default the board is now exactly AE's panel color.
  • Board background options. Right-click → Background: Match After Effects (default), White, Black, or Custom, a color picker with a hex field. Text on the board stays readable on any of them. The choice applies to every project and is remembered.

First release

A reference board inside After Effects.

  • Drag footage in from the Project panel. It arrives at its real size, laid out in rows in Project panel order.
  • Move, resize, rotate: handles keep the aspect ratio (Shift stretches, Option scales from the center); drag just outside a corner to rotate (Shift snaps to 15°).
  • Select with a click, Shift+click, or a drag box; several items share one transform box.
  • Zoom with the scroll wheel, pan with Space+drag or the middle mouse button.
  • Video and GIFs: GIFs loop on their own; videos start paused, with a play button, and loop muted.
  • Previews for PSD, TIFF, HEIC, EXR, Illustrator, PDF, ProRes, and HEVC, made with macOS's built-in tools.
  • Right-click menu with Reverse Order, stacking, Reset Size, Reveal in Finder, and zoom options.
  • Per-project boards, restored when you reopen the .aep.

macOS, After Effects 2022 or later.
