Synítheia v0.2.0
What's new
- Health on Android. Synítheia can now read steps, active energy, workouts, sleep, resting heart rate, height and weight from Health Connect, the same seven kinds of data it reads from Apple Health on iPhone. It only reads; it never writes to Health Connect. Turn it on in Connected Context.
- Body details you can add and correct. Sex, date of birth, height and weight can be typed in on the Body screen, then edited or removed later. Health Connect has nowhere to keep sex or date of birth, so on Android those are only ever what you enter.
- Background sync. Health and Calendar can sync while the app is closed, with a switch on Connected Context. It is best-effort: the phone decides when it runs.
- More suggestions, and notifications for them. New rules notice unusual spending, a low-activity day, a habit that is slipping, and a workout that matches one of your habits. When a background sync turns up a suggestion you can act on, you get a notification.
Not yet verified
- Android health has been tested on an Android 14 emulator only. It has not been run on a physical phone, with real sensor data or a wearable, or on Android 9–13, where Health Connect is a separate app from the Play Store.
- Background sync has not been seen to wake up on its own on a physical phone, on either platform. On Android it carries health data only if you allow background access for Synítheia in Health Connect, which not every phone offers.
Installing
Unsigned builds for sideloading.
- Android (8.0 or newer): install the
.apkdirectly with "install unknown apps" enabled. - iOS: re-sign the
.ipawith a free Apple ID (Sideloadly / AltStore). Health on iOS needs a paid Apple Developer account; re-signing with a free Apple ID removes it.
