Installation help, in case something goes wrong.

(Paths are aligned to our dev laptop - yours may vary)

A Fresh install

This will backup your current installation, and pull down a new one. Please copy the instructions line-by-line, and wait for each command to complete before entering the next.

1. open a terminal

2. type

echo NODE:`node -v`, NPM:`npm -v`

if your node and npm versions are lower than the following, please update them.

NODE:v7.10.1, NPM:4.2.0

3. type

cd /home/editor/Documents/
cp -r playbook playbook-bak
rm -rf playbook
mkdir playbook
cd playbook
git clone https://github.com/tobaccoplaybook/site.git
git clone https://github.com/tobaccoplaybook/content.git
cd site
npm install

4. Now, try to run the system.

npm start

and then open http://127.0.0.1:8181 in Chrome/Firefox.

Update the system

When the developer updates code, you can "pull" it down.

1. Open a terminal and navigate to your "site" directory:

cd /home/editor/playbook/site

2. update

git pull origin master

3. make sure you have installed all dependencies

npm install
