Emote 5.0 is a major update:

• Redesigned with GTK4 and libadwaita, including a resizable picker that follows your desktop's theme.
• Auto-pasting of emojis now supported on compatible Wayland desktops.
• Global shortcut setup on supported Wayland desktops, so you no longer need to register a launcher shortcut yourself.
• Emoji updates for Unicode 15.0, 15.1, 16.0, 17.0 and 18.0.
• Bundled Noto emoji font, with the option to use your system font.
• Faster search and improved multi-emoji selection.
• Quit Emote from the menu or with Ctrl+Q.

You can keep an existing manual Wayland shortcut by skipping shortcut setup. Automatic paste requires a separate keyboard-control permission from your desktop. Clipboard copying remains available when automatic paste is disabled or unsupported.
