v2026.807.2

@tomartec tomartec released this 07 Aug 02:15

Highlights

Agents show what they are working on. Each character now carries a second label beneath its name with the title of the in-progress task assigned to that agent, in every camera including the Total overview.

Click a character for details. Selecting a character opens a compact panel with its status, role and current task, plus a link through to that agent in Paperclip. Hovering highlights whoever is under the cursor. The panel links out rather than rebuilding Paperclip's own task and agent views on a canvas.

Fixes

  • The live badge could be stuck on Offline forever. The event channel was only created the first time a qualifying agent event fired after the worker started, so a company with no such event since startup had no channel to attach to at all — and reloading could not recover it.
  • The sidebar icon drifted out of line when the sidebar was collapsed. Paperclip keeps every nav icon at a fixed left offset and only collapses the label; this plugin was re-centring its own icon instead, so it no longer lined up with anything around it.
  • Labels were unreadable in the Total camera. Label sizes were floored in canvas units rather than CSS pixels, so on a high-DPI display they rendered at roughly half their intended size — worst in Total, where the zoom is smallest and the floor is what applies.

Under the hood

  • Adds the issues.read capability, used to resolve task titles. Titles come from a single issues.list call per company grouped by assignee, rather than one lookup per agent.

Highlights

The camera is actually live now. The worker subscribes to agent status and run events from Paperclip and streams them to the UI over SSE, so the office updates in real time — no more manual refresh to see who's working. A status badge in the header shows the connection state (Live / Connecting / Reconnecting / Offline), with a subtle breathing animation that respects prefers-reduced-motion.

Agents keep their spot. Character positions and seat assignments now persist across tab switches and page reloads, instead of everyone walking back in from the door every time. A new reset button (↺) next to the status badge clears saved positions if you ever want everyone back at the entrance.

Speech bubbles, for real this time. Agents waiting on your approval now show a permission bubble above their head; agents idling show a waiting bubble. (The bubble code existed before this release but was never wired up to anything — it is now.)

Smaller camera header. The four "Camera 1–4" buttons and the "Total" button are now one dropdown, labeled with the actual room names instead of numbers.

Fixes

  • A cold-load race could permanently freeze the office canvas when an agent was already pending approval on page load (the bubble renderer could hand a 0×0 canvas to drawImage, throwing inside the render loop with nothing to catch it).
  • The sidebar entry's icon and label were misaligned with the rest of Paperclip's navigation, in both the expanded and collapsed sidebar states.
  • Live agent-run events are now correctly matched by entity type — the worker was previously trying to look up a run ID as if it were an agent ID for four of the six event types it subscribes to.

Under the hood

  • Bumped @paperclipai/plugin-sdk and @paperclipai/shared to 2026.722.0.
  • Added the events.subscribe capability so the plugin can listen for agent activity.

Add preset office maps, themes, and industry templates

Seven selectable floor plans (Central Hub, Open Studio, The Boulevard,
Campus Mini, Team Pods, Creative Loft, Hybrid Office) built from a
declarative room/role system, plus 8 re-tinting themes (added Neon and
Retro) and 4 industry-specific room relabeling templates. Reorders
camera buttons to 3D Map / Total / Camera 1-4 with Total as default,
and extrudes flat furniture in the isometric view so it reads with
height instead of lying flush on the floor.

Normalize leftover checker tiles inside rooms to the room floor

The office layout's old bright checker "entry" strip (tile 9) and the
boardroom layout's door-mat patch (tile 8) clashed with the muted
corridor. Replace them with the nearest regular room floor tile+color.
