sudo apt install ./ptouch-studio_*_amd64.deb

Fedora, openSUSE

sudo dnf install ./ptouch-studio-*.x86_64.rpm

Every other distribution (AppImage)

chmod +x P-touch_Studio-*.AppImage
./P-touch_Studio-*.AppImage

The AppImage carries the application; the CUPS backend goes into the system:

sudo install -m 700 ptouch-cups-backend-x86_64 /usr/lib/cups/backend/rfcomm

Then set up the printer — in the application under
Printer → Setup, or on the command line with ptouch-studio setup.
