Mushotoku 1.4
What's new
- Notes, rebuilt: the list is a grid of cards now. Every note can take one of six colours, and pinned notes get their own section at the top.
- Tags: write #tag anywhere in a note and it becomes one. The chips above the list filter by tag, and a long press on a chip offers to strip that tag from every note, or to delete the tagged notes along with it.
- Real lists in the editor: dashes, bullets, numbers and checklists. Checklist items cycle through open, in progress and done, and the card shows a coloured dot for the least finished one.
- Tap to edit: tapping a note opens the editor right where your finger landed. The title is tappable too.
- Timestamps: a button in the editor toolbar drops the current time at the cursor, and a long press adds the date as well.
- Quick filters beside the tag chips show just the notes with lists, or just those with timestamps.
- Trash: restoring or deleting for good now asks first and says how many notes it affects.
- Mindfulness has its own colour now, opens with a long press on today's date.
- A new "Features" section in the settings switches Finance and Mindfulness on or off.
- Finance: the Israeli new shekel (ILS) is available. You can also define a currency yourself: symbol, where it sits, spacing, decimal places and separator.
- New notes can start in the title or in the text, whichever suits you.
- Moving a task to tomorrow can be undone.
Bugfixes
- Amounts could use the wrong decimal separator when the device language did not match the chosen currency.
- Tapping a checkbox is now matched against where the box is drawn, so a tap just beside it no longer slips into the text.
- On coloured note cards the date and the type icon were close to unreadable in dark mode.
- The app no longer locks itself while one of its own system dialogs is open, so saving a recovery code, creating a backup or exporting is not interrupted by an unlock prompt. Leaving the app still locks it as before.
Security
- The recovery code is now saved to a folder you pick instead of going through the share sheet, so no readable PDF is left behind in the app's cache.
- Copying the recovery code no longer shows it in the clipboard preview and keeps it out of the keyboard's clipboard history.

Reminders
- Appointment reminders are now more reliable: they are rescheduled after a reboot, app update and clock/timezone changes.
- Reminders can no longer be dropped during app startup before the database has loaded.
App lock
- Enabling the app lock now provides a recovery code, so you keep access to your data even if the device's biometrics change (an invalidated Keystore key) or you forget your passphrase.
- The recovery code is shown once and can be exported as a print-ready PDF; it is reachable from the lock screen and Security settings.
- After a recovery you can choose a new lock (passphrase, biometrics or none).

What's new
- Broader device support: Mushotoku now runs on Android 13+ and adapts to foldables.
- Expense categories: new "reset categories" button, and freshly created custom categories show up in the daily view right away.
Bugfixes
- New notes are now autosaved, so a draft survives the app being killed in the background.
- Deleting a custom expense category now removes all of its entries and recurring-cost history, so it no longer reappears as an orphaned item in the detailed report.
