Pocket SCION Synth v2.7.0-sam
Pocket SCION Synth v2.7.0-sam
Experimental voice-and-visual performance release from the sam-voice branch.
- Streams Software Automatic Mouth speech alongside the three PRA32-U lanes
- Stores ten editable generative phrases and ten voice parameters per patch
- Adds bounded, occasional Speed, Pitch, Mouth, and Throat motion
- Includes six classic voice-character starting presets in the browser editor
- Adds a full-screen generative visual performance driven by notes, ratchets,
MIDI CC motion, patch character, bank colour, and spoken-word triggers - Shows spoken phrases one word at a time and follows hardware patch changes
- Prevents stale editor phrase reads from re-selecting an earlier instrument
- Bounds SAM phoneme staging and length-rule indexing for long-term stability
- Keeps patch/bank JSON schema 5 compatible with earlier editor exports
Flash pocket_scion_synth_v2.7.0-sam.uf2 using the normal RP2040 bootloader.
The compiled browser editor is supplied as
pocket_scion_editor_v2.7.0-sam.zip; serve the extracted files from localhost
or HTTPS so the browser can use Web MIDI.

Pocket SCION Synth v2.5.0 — Adaptive Calibration
Pocket SCION Synth v2.5.0 — Adaptive Calibration
This release expands the alternative multi-timbral firmware to sixteen banks
and makes the plant/touch sensor pipeline observable and tunable from the USB
editor.
New in v2.5.0
- 256 deliberately designed patches across sixteen banks, including Dub
Techno, Motorik, Polyrhythmic Organic, Cinematic, Acid & Electro, Broken Beat
& IDM, Minimal Phase, and Chiptune directions - Persistent controls for response-window length, edge-noise rejection,
adaptive normalization, pressure/expression smoothing, variation gain,
transient response, activity timeout, calibration learning, and calibration
recovery - Faster 1.0%-per-window default recovery after temporary sensor spikes, with
an adjustable 0.1–5.0% range - Live 10/30/60-second pressure, expression, transient, and pitch-motion graph
- Calibration plots showing current pulse interval and relative variation
against their learned minimum–maximum ranges - Live Learn/Freeze, Active/Idle, analysis-rate, rejected-edge, dropped-edge,
and signal-age diagnostics - Calibration controls integrated into the Sensor Monitor for immediate visual
feedback - Backward-compatible migration of existing saved global settings
Installation
Download pocket_scion_synth_v2.5.0.uf2, enter the RP2040 USB bootloader, and
copy the file to the RPI-RP2 volume. Existing v2.4.0 patch and global records
remain readable; newly added calibration values begin at their documented
defaults until saved.

Pocket SCION Synth v2.4.0 — Multi-Timbral
Pocket SCION Synth v2.4.0 — Multi-Timbral
This release turns the three generative lanes into distinct instruments while
keeping the live, sensor-driven character of the alternative firmware.
Included
- Independent PRA32-U timbres for bass/percussion, pad, and lead
- Fully parameterized 128-patch bank across eight deliberately designed banks
- Configurable Bass, Percussion, or Hybrid low role with six editable
articulation slots - Separate Euclidean density, length, timing, motif, envelope, and sensor
routing controls for all three lanes - Shared chorus and stereo delay on the complete three-part mix
- DIN and USB MIDI, single- and multichannel modes, ratchets, and held-chord
scale constraint - Browser editor with live control, bank/patch JSON, flash save, parameter help,
signal-flow documentation, and automatic patch synchronization - Raw sensor audio mode, responsive nine-pixel RGB animation, and a 20 Hz live
sensor monitor
Installation
Download pocket_scion_synth_v2.4.0.uf2, enter the RP2040 USB bootloader,
and copy the file to the RPI-RP2 volume.
