PokeCode supports Android 13 or later on ARM64 devices.
- Download the APK from the official release page and follow its installation and verification instructions.
- Open PokeCode, go to Chat, and select Start initialization.
- Follow setup and complete the offered Sign in, Device code, or API key flow.
- Create a Project, prepare a Note, or start a Chat conversation.
Setup needs an internet connection. AI features depend on the services, accounts, and models you use. If initialization is interrupted, you can resume it.
Use Notes to collect ideas, instructions, and reusable prompts. Divide a Note into Blocks and Subblocks to keep related information together and make individual tasks easier to manage.
- Edit content and use Cut/Paste as you organize it.
- Pin useful Notes and find content with search.
- Work with large Notes through progressive loading.
- Recover deleted Notes and Blocks from Trash.
Group related work into Projects and organize your workspace with Categories and selectable icons. Custom Templates save common prompt instructions and version settings so you can reuse them for future work.

Blocks and Subblocks
|
Build a prompt from your working Notes, then manage its submission through Launcher.
- Write your goal and instructions in Blocks and Subblocks.
- Send a Block individually, or link several Blocks into a versioned group.
- Review the group in Launcher before sending.
- Manage pending submissions with Send now or cancellation.
- Revisit saved submissions in Time Capsule as you refine your next prompt.
Launcher also lets you select multiple Blocks to unlink while keeping their original Note content.
Time Capsule keeps snapshots of previous submissions. Browse by date to see exactly what you sent, while your Notes stay available for further editing.
Chat brings AI-assisted development into your project workflow.
- Follow responses as they stream in.
- Attach files to provide context.
- Explain an idea visually with the pen-and-eraser sketch editor.
- Answer interactive follow-up questions.
- Use task controls to manage ongoing work.
- Adjust the available model, reasoning, speed, and permission settings for each session.
- Follow session progress and accumulated working time through notifications.
Use Chat to describe what you want to make, review the result, and refine it through further conversation.
The embedded Terminal gives you a command-line workspace on your phone alongside your Notes and Chat. It supports Codex and GitHub sign-in, light and dark palettes, and resumable setup.
Terminal settings provide tools for updating the environment, checking development tools, and repairing dependencies. You can manage your development workflow without leaving PokeCode.
Use Preview to view supported work within the current session.
| Feature | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Grouped entries | Browse supported HTML, Android Layout, and Compose previews. |
| Playback controls | Start, pause, resume, or stop a preview. |
| Error details | Open selectable Details when preparation fails, then use Retry. |
| Android App prompt Preview mode | Let the agent complete and verify changes, then wait for your explicit confirmation before building an APK. |
Android previews require the Project's development tools to be set up. Check the release notes for current preview limitations.

Choose Settings → Terminal → File access to select the access mode you need:
- App sandbox only
- Selected phone files
- All phone files
When a mode needs Storage Helper, PokeCode offers an Install/Update prompt and guides you through installation and Android's permission choices. Cancelling or failing setup keeps your previous mode.
The Terminal wake lock helps commands, builds, and AI tasks keep running while your screen is off.
Tap the lock icon in Terminal to toggle it. A highlighted closed lock means it is enabled, and starting a Terminal session enables it automatically. Your screen can still turn off normally.
Turn the wake lock off when work finishes to save battery. It has no app-imposed time limit, although Android's battery and background restrictions can still affect ongoing work.
| Feature | How it helps |
|---|---|
| Back up | Save selected categories through Settings → Back up. |
| Restore | Choose a backup ZIP through Settings → Restore, validate it, and select categories to restore. |
| Run in background | Continue supported backup and restore operations while navigating, with progress notifications and cancellation controls. |
| Export Notes | Save Notes as Word documents (.docx), UTF-8 text, or PDF. |
| Trash | Restore deleted Notes and Blocks. |
Restore replaces the selected categories in the destination app. Back up important content before updating, and follow the update instructions when moving from an older installation.
Choose a light or dark theme, select Category icons, and use reusable templates to keep your workspace familiar. Terminal also provides light and dark palettes.
