What's Changed
Fixed
- Terminal highlight rules never coloured anything, and the built-in rules underlined ERROR/WARNING with no way to stop them (issue #343) — a highlight rule is a regular expression plus a colour, but the rule editors (both the global one in Settings and the per-connection one in the connection editor) only offered a name and a pattern — there was no field to set a colour at all, so every rule a user created stored no colour and drew nothing. Both editors now have Text colour and Background colour fields that take a hex value (
#RRGGBB); an empty field means no colour. The pattern field's tooltip now says it expects a regular expression such as(?i)\bINFO\b(not a'INFO'[r,g,b]-style literal from another tool) with the colour set separately. Separately, a foreground colour was drawn as a thin 2px underline that a user did not read as highlighting — it is now a translucent colour wash over the matched text plus the underline, so the match is visibly coloured while the text stays legible. Finally, the built-in ERROR/WARNING/CRITICAL/FATAL rules were always on and could not be turned off, which is the automatic underline a user saw with no rules configured; a new Highlight ERROR, WARNING, CRITICAL and FATAL switch in Settings turns them off, leaving only the user's own rules.
Changed
- The Snap now grants the desktop portal network-monitor access (issue #342) — under strict confinement the snap could not answer GIO's network-status query (
org.freedesktop.portal.NetworkMonitor), which the sandbox refused with "not available inside the sandbox" and aGLib-GIO-WARNINGon every check. The snap now declares thenetwork-statusinterface (auto-connected on the store), so the network monitor works and the warning is gone.
Documentation
- Corrected the packaging docs about FreeRDP and VNC fallbacks in the sandboxed builds (issues #342, #340) — the docs claimed the Snap downloads an external FreeRDP and TigerVNC on demand through the Components dialog, which was never true: FreeRDP is not a downloadable component (no pre-built Linux binaries) and the TigerVNC viewer needs host display access a strict snap cannot grant, so neither ever appeared in the snap's dialog.
docs/SNAP.md,docs/INSTALL.mdanddocs/USER_GUIDE.mdnow state plainly that the snap uses the embedded IronRDP and vnc-rs clients for RDP and VNC with no external fallback, that only the sandbox-compatible CLIs (Zero Trust, password managers, kubectl) are downloadable, and that the Flatpak (not the snap) bundles the SDL3 FreeRDP client. The stale FreeRDP detection-priority line inINSTALL.mdwas also updated to the SDL-first order the launcher has used since 0.22.5 (sdl-freerdp3first,wlfreerdp3deprecated), so the docs no longer list the deprecated client first.
