LeafRead ("the App," "we," "our") is a PDF/EPUB reader with on-device OCR and translation features, developed and maintained as an independent app. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it.
LeafRead is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your documents, and we do not collect analytics, tracking data, or crash reports.
We do not collect any personal data. Specifically:
- Documents and files: PDFs, EPUBs, and any files you open in LeafRead are read and processed locally on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
- OCR and translation: Text recognition and translation happen fully on-device using local processing. No document content, extracted text, or translated text is transmitted anywhere.
- Analytics and crash reporting: LeafRead does not use Firebase, Google Analytics, or any other analytics or crash-reporting service. We do not track how you use the App.
- Account information: LeafRead does not require you to create an account and does not collect your name, email, or other identifying information.
LeafRead may request device permissions (such as storage/file access) solely to let you open and read documents stored on your device. These permissions are used only for local functionality and are never used to transmit data off your device.
LeafRead offers a one-time purchase to unlock the full app, processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) — this information is handled directly by Google Play in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. We only receive confirmation from Google Play that a purchase was completed, so we can unlock the relevant features on your device.
LeafRead does not integrate any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. The only third-party service involved is Google Play Billing for processing the one-time purchase, as described above.
Because LeafRead does not collect personal data or document content, we have nothing to share with third parties, sell, or use for advertising purposes.
LeafRead does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13, as the App does not collect personal data of any kind.
Since all processing happens on your device and no document or personal data is transmitted to us, there is no server-side storage of your information for us to secure. Your data's security is governed by your own device's security settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
