Release Notes: v1.0 - Graphical User Interface Update

We are excited to announce a major update to the QR Code Generator! This release introduces a fully-featured, professionally designed Graphical User Interface (GUI) as an alternative to the standard command-line tool.

✨ New Features

🖥️ Full Graphical Interface

  • Launch via GUI: You no longer need to use the terminal. Simply run python QR-Code-GUI.py to open the visual application.
  • Visual Previews: The app now includes a built-in preview panel that instantly displays your generated QR code before you even open the file.
  • Easy File Browsing: Added native system file-picker dialogs for selecting your output directory and finding your center logo image.

🎨 Professional Dark Mode Design

The entire application was built from the ground up using strict, professional UI/UX design principles:

  • Utilitarian Color Space: Removed generic purple gradients in favor of a neutral deep charcoal background (#181818) with high-contrast functional blue accents (#3b82f6).
  • Strict Typography: Implemented a rigid two-weight, three-size type scale using the system default Segoe UI font for perfect legibility.
  • Consistent Geometry: All components utilize a strictly enforced 6px/12px padding token system with completely flattened borders (0px radius) for a sharp, modern, utilitarian aesthetic.
  • Accessible Interactions: Hover states no longer use distracting "glowing" effects. Instead, buttons use a mathematically precise shade-shift to indicate interactivity. Emojis have been stripped from the UI to maintain a professional tool environment.

📐 Dynamic Responsive Layout

  • Full-Screen Support: The window is no longer locked to a fixed size. You can maximize the application or resize it freely.
  • Intelligent Centering: When stretched on wide monitors, the UI does not break or stretch input boxes infinitely. Instead, the layout intelligently caps its width at 700px and perfectly centers itself using dynamic margins to utilize screen real estate cleanly.

⏳ UX Behaviors

  • Async Loading States: Generating complex QR codes heavily taxes the system. The "Generate" button now features a proper visual loading state ("Generating...", disabled) to prevent double-clicks and provide immediate system feedback.
  • Error Handling: Integrated system message boxes to elegantly warn users of missing inputs or invalid file paths without crashing the script.

🛠️ Usage

Both the new GUI and the classic Terminal versions remain fully supported.

Terminal Version:
