Why do you want to contribute?
I'd like to fix issue #3617 — "Some webapp loggers ignore APP_LOG_LEVEL setting".
I've already read through the codebase, identified the two root causes (UpdateMetadataService hardcoding its log level instead of reading APP_LOG_LEVEL, and morgan middleware having no env gate), and have a fix ready in my local branch.
I'm a backend-focused developer comfortable with Node.js, Express, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. I'm currently building SyncSpace, a real-time collaborative document editor using Node.js/Express/Socket.io/React, so this codebase feels familiar to me.
