What's New
First-name mention resolution
The @mention resolver now supports first-name shorthand for users with dotted usernames (herman.gorbatovskii) or multi-word display names (Herman Gorbatovskii). Writing @herman will resolve to that user as long as the first name is unambiguous.
# All of these now resolve to the same user:
slackbuzz message send '#dev' '@herman.gorbatovskii check this'
slackbuzz message send '#dev' '@herman gorbatovskii check this'
slackbuzz message send '#dev' '@herman, check this'If multiple users share a first name, use the full username or display name instead.
Shell escape artifact cleanup
Message text is now automatically unescaped before sending. Shells like zsh can escape special characters (e.g. ! becomes \! via history expansion) when passing arguments. The CLI now strips these artifacts so messages arrive correctly in Slack.
Test coverage
- 7 new mention resolution test cases covering multi-word names, partial matching, ambiguity, and greedy longest-match behavior
- 8 new tests for shell unescape logic
