Release list

v2.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@truongfelix truongfelix released this 14 Oct 15:43

The second release. Every item, question, lesson and handoff gets an id; sessions can work side by side without taking the same item; you see the work as one page, choose what Claude does without asking, and how your code is checked before a merge.

What's new

  • Ids for everything. Backlog items, questions, lessons and handoffs have one shape and an id that never changes (B-12, Q-4, L-3, H-12), described in notes/item-format.md and checked by items.sh check. A finished item is deleted, not ticked: git is the archive, and items.sh show <id> prints any item, live or deleted, with its history.
  • One handoff per session, in notes/handoff/<session>.md: sessions in parallel no longer overwrite each other's notes, and a new session takes the last one over.
  • Claims. When work on an item starts, claim.sh pushes a claimed: line that names the session, its branch and its machine, so two sessions never take the same item. The ground truth reports a claim not pushed, one whose branch is gone, and one with no commit for days.
  • /board: the trackers, lessons and handoffs as one page, with filters, closed items, the commits and pull requests behind each item, and where each claimed item's work is. A hook rebuilds it after each change, and an open tab updates itself. Where no browser can show it, the open items are printed instead.
  • /autonomy: what Claude does without asking you, step by step (start the day's task, commit, push, add or claim an item, open or merge a pull request, release, message anyone, …), each "ask first" or "do, then tell". Three presets, Careful, Balanced and Hands-off, or the steps you pick; or say it in words.
  • /checks: how the code is checked before a merge, by its own check (such as its tests, run by gate.sh, which keeps a receipt of each commit that passed), by GitHub CI, both, or nothing yet; and the rules kept: a release needs a pass on the code it tags (a pre-push hook refuses a v* tag otherwise), each bug fix comes with a check that fails without it, the main branch is checked again after a merge. Each repo can keep rules of its own.
  • /trim: when the rulings or the lessons grow past the size you set, a session of its own proposes one plan to keep, shorten, move, merge or delete each entry; you change only the lines you disagree with.
  • Several repos. The docs live with the code or in a private repo of their own; attach.sh adds a code repo to the project and writes a pointer in it, so a session opened there finds the project's rules.
  • A shorter README, for people; the setup and the upgrade, written for the Claude session that does them, are in SETUP.md and UPGRADE.md.
  • A plainer setup. It asks for the remote first, then where the notes live, what Claude does alone and how the code is checked, in plain words, and ends with the check run on the setup's commit and a first handoff from a ground truth with nothing to flag.

Upgrading from 1.x

Take this release in your clone of the workflow (git fetch --tags && git checkout v2.0.0 there; ~/workflow below), run ~/workflow/bin/adopt.sh <your project>, then ask Claude: Upgrade the workflow: follow ~/workflow/UPGRADE.md. It goes through the new files, CLAUDE.md's table "What Claude does alone", the config, the one-time conversion of the trackers to ids, a commit, then one /handoff, which moves the old notes/handoff.md.

Tested by CI on Linux, macOS (bash 3.2) and Windows (Git Bash).

v1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@truongfelix truongfelix released this 11 Oct 17:09

The first tagged release.

What's in it

  • /session-start runs ground-truth.sh, which reads the facts: every repo and worktree compared with its remote, open PRs and their CI, and background jobs. Then it reads the last handoff, reports where the two disagree, proposes the day's task, and waits for you.
  • /handoff rewrites notes/handoff.md from the same ground truth, updates the trackers (BACKLOG.md, questions.md, notes/lessons.md), and commits.
  • bin/adopt.sh installs the template into a project (a single repo, or --workspace for a folder of several repos). It never overwrites a file and lists what is left to FILL.
  • example/ holds a filled-in project and the brief /session-start gave on it.
  • CI tests on Linux, macOS and Windows (Git Bash).
