Bug Fixes

  • fix: remove symlink creation from _ensure_hashfile_in_cwd — Output files now land next to the original hashfile. No more confusing symlinks created in the working directory when providing absolute paths to hash files.
  • fix: only report combined output file when it exists — cleanup() no longer claims output is at a path that doesn't exist when no hashes were cracked.
  • fix: write output files to user's CWD, not install directory — Added HATE_CRACK_ORIG_CWD support so the bash shim preserves the caller's real working directory.

Tests

  • Added e2e test verifying output file paths with real hashcat (gated behind HATE_CRACK_RUN_E2E=1)
