Window Thumb Wall v0.6.10

Keep multiple windows visible at once with a fast, low-overhead live thumbnail wall for Windows.

Why Use It

  • Watch multiple windows without constant app switching.
  • Keep logs, dashboards, browsers, chats, and terminals visible together.
  • Use a second display as a lightweight monitoring wall.
  • Notice when monitored windows need attention through red or orange borders, and keep track of the active source window with a white border.
  • Click a thumbnail to jump back to its source window.
  • Stay local and private with no telemetry or cloud dependency.

What's New

  • Made the MSI installation smoke test reliable on GitHub-hosted Windows runners that do not provide an interactive main window.
  • The test still proves installation, installed-file version, successful startup, and silent uninstall; it now cleans up only its own smoke-test process when a normal window-close request is unavailable.
  • Kept ZIP, MSI, and MSIX release validation intact.

Window Thumb Wall v0.6.7

Keep multiple windows visible at once with a fast, low-overhead live thumbnail wall for Windows.

Downloads

Official builds are available in the following formats:

Windows x64 (Standard)

Windows ARM64 (Surface Pro, etc.)

What's New

Highlights

  • Added a steady white border so the currently active source window is always visible in the wall.
  • Refined notification attention handling so Windows notifications can light the correct monitored thumbnail more reliably, including short follow-up sync for updated toasts.
  • Prevented cleared notification attention from relighting repeatedly for the same unchanged toast.
  • Clarified packaged-runtime requirements and local MSIX verification guidance for OS notification reflection.

Window Thumb Wall v0.6.5

Keep multiple windows visible at once with a fast, low-overhead live thumbnail wall for Windows.

Downloads

Official builds are available in the following formats:

Windows x64 (Standard)

Windows ARM64 (Surface Pro, etc.)

Why Use It

  • Watch multiple windows without constant app switching.
  • Keep logs, dashboards, browsers, chats, and terminals visible together.
  • Use a second display as a lightweight monitoring wall.
  • Notice when a monitored window needs attention through a flashing red border.
  • Click a thumbnail to jump back to its source window.
  • Stay local and private with no telemetry or cloud dependency.

What's New

  • Expanded attention highlighting beyond taskbar flashes by monitoring Windows notifications.
  • Added notification-to-window matching with red flashing borders for unique matches.
  • Added orange flashing borders when notification matching leaves multiple monitored candidates.
  • Kept unmonitored windows in the candidate pool for disambiguation without rendering wall highlights for them.
  • Tightened notification matching so it narrows candidates by exact token and exact identity comparisons instead of broad substring-style matches.
  • Added a persisted Settings window entry for whether OS notifications should affect attention highlighting, with the default set to off.
  • Updated local MSIX packaging so build-msix.ps1 produces a reusable self-signed test package for installation testing.
  • Added an MSIX install helper that runs in the current terminal, imports the local test certificate, installs the newest bundle, and launches the app.
  • Added build-and-run-msix.ps1 as a one-step local entrypoint for build, install, and launch.
  • Fixed the main taskbar icon so the running desktop window keeps the intended app icon instead of falling back to the generic document icon.
