The kvantum theme looks beautiful and is working great! However, when I apply it to Google Chrome, my address bar is always white. It doesn't respect the dark colors I see elsewhere. Any ideas why that might be? It's totally possible I am missing a setting or configuration option somewhere. Here is an example of what it looks like on chrome:

Google Chrome is not a Qt apps and isn't styled by Kvantum. It just uses some Qt palettes in its GTK style. |

I see, so you're saying when I choose "Qt" in chrome, it's really still using GTK, but reading in colors, etc. from QT palettes. Makes sense to me. Sounds like this is probably an issue on Chrome side then, not making the connection between whatever GTK variable controls the address bar color and the proper QT palette. Perhaps there is a little bit more to it these days? Might be just Chromium though, for which I've seen some related Gentoo Linux bug reports [1], and it seems to be possible to build it without GTK support even, though the option for that has not materialised upstream so far it seems. I've also seen some Chromium upstream "Qt Linux Backend" work [2]. The official Google Chrome package probably still behaves exactly as described here though. I don't use either of these browsers myself, so haven't gone deeper than this, but figured I'd mention what I've seen in case it will help with, for example, finding an alternative to Chrome via a Chromium-based browser that has this backend enabled (or build one from sources) and see how it behaves. |
Yes, more or less.
It gets the palette of the active Qt style and uses it in its own style. A style is much more than its palette. This is the most Chromium can do, and it does it quite well, considering the inevitable limitations of such a method. |
