FinderConvert 1.0.4 — Folder menus and broader XLSX support
What's new
- Folder right-click menu fixed — folders now always show the Convert menu, and it lists only the formats matching the files actually inside the folder (the extension asks the main app when the sandbox blocks it from looking).
- Broader XLSX compatibility — spreadsheets produced by non-Excel tools (ClosedXML, EPPlus, and similar exporters) now convert correctly instead of reporting 'no data found'.
- Faster right-click on large folders: content inspection is capped so Finder never stalls.
Install
brew install --cask turman17/tap/finderconvert
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/FinderConvert.appOr download the zip below, move FinderConvert.app to Applications, and run the same xattr command (the app isn't notarized, so Gatekeeper blocks the first launch without it).
Existing users: the app updates itself in place — accept the update notification.
Requirements: macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
