1.3.0
The color picker is completely removed from the mini toolbar, including its menu, color-setting actions, and menu styles. Previously saved formatting remains readable. Heading replacements, including H3, remain available.
The toolbar review follows Emil Kowalski's design-engineering guidance:
| Before | After | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Unwanted color picker and menu machinery | Six labelled formatting buttons | Simpler editing UI |
| Visible buttons kept stale settings | Heading choices update immediately | Settings should take effect at once |
| Pointer presses could lose the selection | Presses keep editor focus | Format the intended text |
| Positioning could flash or finish out of order | Show only the latest valid position | Keep the toolbar steady |
| Inconsistent focus and selection handling | Focus outlines, Escape dismissal, correct primary/RTL selection bounds | Improve everyday keyboard and pointer use |
Opening and closing remain instant. The production bundle is about 9.6 KB smaller. See AUDIT.md for the complete review and testing limits.
Validation: 130 tests, TypeScript checks, and production build passed. No live Obsidian UI automation was used.
Update through BRAT, or copy the separate main.js, manifest.json, and styles.css assets into .obsidian/plugins/better-editor/.
