Foreman 2.3.0 runs your agents like a company, and keeps guarding them when no terminal is open.

Run your agents like a company

  • Several roles on one agent. You can run Claude Code or Codex as several teammates: foreman agent add backend --type codex.
    • Each teammate has its own identity, role and audit trail.
    • They talk to each other through Foreman.
  • Ready-made roles, or your own. foreman org roles lists the ready-made roles: manager, developer, code reviewer, researcher, writer, analyst, support and assistant.
    • Add one with foreman org add-role reviewer --preset code-reviewer --runs-on claude-code.
    • Or describe your own: --describe "…".
  • Permissions per role. --can read,write,shell,network limits what a role's agent may do. A reviewer that may only read can't edit a file, whatever policy.yaml says, and the agent is told why.
  • Set up the team in the setup wizard. A new optional last step, Your team.
  • A Team page in the TUI (t). See the org chart, then press n to add a role.

Approvals from anywhere

  • No terminal needed. foreman service install now runs the whole gateway: approvals reach Telegram, Slack or Discord with no terminal open. foreman start attaches to the running service.
  • One Telegram bot is enough. It carries notifications, approval buttons and /foreman. Plain messages such as report me are read-only questions.
  • Chat with Foreman in the TUI (c).

Safer

  • Catastrophic commands are refused outright. rm -rf / (and ~, /usr…), mkfs or dd onto a disk, and fork bombs no longer ask; they are denied.
  • Claude Code's hook fails closed when Foreman can't run. After upgrading, run foreman agent hook install claude-code once.
  • foreman agent add no longer prints the agent's private key.

A clearer TUI

  • Every page fits in the tab bar.
  • Policy says what each rule does in plain words.
  • Services shows each chat app's mode.
  • Providers shows how each provider is connected.
  • Rows stay on one line, with long paths shortened.
  • Repeated crash notices are grouped.
  • Home shows your team and the next steps.
