CrossVi 1.0.1 is a maintenance release focused on sleep reliability, language migration, reader feedback, highlights, and button controls.
Fixed
- Fixed sleep screens gradually darkening or developing ink bleed after the final refresh by powering down the panel as part of every sleep-screen refresh path, including custom images, book covers, blank screens, grayscale screens, and Quick Resume.
- Fixed occasional wake-to-Home behavior when sleep began while a reader-related dialog was open; CrossVi now recognizes a paused reader in the activity stack and restores the book.
- Fixed legacy language data selecting the wrong default language, including cases where an old numeric language index could be interpreted as Russian. Language choices are now persisted using stable language codes and ambiguous legacy artifacts are retired safely.
- Fixed language selection appearing successful when it could not be saved; the previous language is now retained and an error is shown.
- Fixed existing highlights disappearing visually while creating another highlight on the same page. Multiple highlights on one page remain stored and visible during selection.
- Fixed the publisher-style warning remaining on an EPUB page until the user changed pages; it now dismisses automatically after the normal message interval.
Improved
- Added a side-button layout where either side button turns to the next page.
- Clarified Vietnamese page-turn labels to use “Lật trang sau” and explicit forward/backward combinations.
- Updated the README and embedded release version to 1.0.1.
Validation
- Host test suite: 1,022 passed, 1 optional cpfont fixture skipped.
- Static analysis: cppcheck passed with no defects.
- Release firmware build:
gh_releasepassed. - Firmware size:

Installation
Download firmware.bin and flash it with Custom .bin in the CrossPoint web flasher. Back up the SD card first.
Hardware-dependent sleep behavior and e-ink panel behavior still need validation on each physical X3/X4 revision.
