AgentDock 1.0.1

@tvidenov tvidenov released this 10 Oct 07:54

AgentDock 1.0.1: fixes from testing every terminal with real agents.

  • iTerm: ⌥⌥ messages and Inbox replies are sent again. They were typed into the agent's input but never submitted.
  • kitty: clicking an agent brings its own window forward, not just kitty. Messages with backslashes (a path like C:\temp) arrive exactly as typed.
  • herdr: questions from agents in herdr can be answered from the Inbox again; newer herdr versions wouldn't show a waiting agent's screen. An agent that appeared before herdr recognised it no longer stays without its name and logo.
  • Claude Code in a terminal opened from the Claude app now shows as that terminal instead of "Claude app", so ⌥⌥ can type to it and clicking finds its tab.
  • When an agent has unsent text in its prompt, AgentDock now says to clear it there, instead of always saying "in cmux".

Tested end to end with Claude Code in cmux, tmux, herdr, iTerm, WezTerm, kitty, Terminal and Ghostty.

@tvidenov tvidenov released this 09 Oct 14:43

AgentDock 1.0: now $19, after a 7-day free trial.

  • Try everything for 7 days. After the trial, the status dots and the hover card keep working for free. Answering from the Inbox, ⌥⌥ messages and answering from your iPhone need a license.
  • $19 once (plus tax where it applies), for up to 3 Macs. Buy it from the menu or Settings › License. After paying, your browser brings you straight back to AgentDock with the key filled in.
  • Lost your key? agentdockapp.com/activate finds it again from your email and the card you paid with.
  • Settings › License shows your trial, your license, and frees a Mac when you move to a new one.
  • The iPhone page says when answering is locked, instead of quietly doing nothing.
  • Fixed: two copies of AgentDock running at once (say, a test build) could cut each other off from Claude Code's hook.

Thank you for trying AgentDock early.

Logos where they help, and updates that show up right away.

  • Provider icons now stay on the folded strip. The hover card, the Inbox and ⌥⌥ go back to plain status dots, since their rows already start with each agent's logo.
  • New versions are offered as soon as they're out. AgentDock used to be handed a cached copy of the update feed for a few minutes after a release, so "Check for Updates" could miss it.

See which provider each agent is.

  • Provider icons: turn on Settings › Appearance › Provider icons and every dot shows its agent's logo (Claude, Codex, Gemini, Grok; a square for other agents), on the strip, the hover card, the Inbox and ⌥⌥. The color still says what the agent is doing, and agents that need you keep their halo.
  • The hover card's marks are now the providers' logos, so a dot on the strip and its row look alike.
  • The Settings preview shows the folded strip beside the hover card.

Fixes agents in cmux blinking in and out.

  • A Claude Code session in cmux no longer appears and disappears every few seconds. cmux can mark a running session as ended and keep it that way; AgentDock now checks whether the session's process is still running before believing it.
  • Claude Code sessions outside cmux show up by themselves again. Claude Code's own installer names its program after its version, and AgentDock didn't recognise it, so those sessions only appeared once the hook reported them.

Fixes a crash, and today's token count.

  • AgentDock no longer quits when Claude Code's hook reports an event. With "Know when Claude Code needs you" turned on, 0.5.3 and 0.5.4 crashed on the first event from any session started afterwards.
  • Today's tokens are counted once. Resumed and forked sessions copy earlier messages into new files, and those were counted again, as was the history a resumed Codex thread carries into its new file. Totals were up to 40% too high.
  • The hover card says how much was re-read from cache. Every request sends the whole conversation again, mostly from the prompt cache, which is why daily totals run into the hundreds of millions.

Codex app threads open where they are.

  • Clicking a Codex app thread opens that thread in the Codex app, from the strip or an Inbox card.
  • Threads in the current Codex app are recognised as the app's. It now runs them through a copy of the Codex CLI it carries inside, so AgentDock took them for a terminal session and clicking did nothing.
  • Release notes are back: 0.5.2 and 0.5.3 went out without them.

Also new since 0.5.1:

  • ⌘-click an agent on the strip to go straight to it, and choose in Settings › General what a plain click does. Inbox cards have a button that takes you to the agent.
  • Settings is in tabs at one size, with Settings › Apps: what works in each app and terminal, how to set it up, and whether it's ready on this Mac.

Go to an agent instead of answering.

  • ⌘-click an agent on the strip to go straight to it: its cmux pane, terminal tab or app.
  • Settings › General › Strip chooses what a plain click on an agent that needs you does: open its card in the Inbox, or go to the agent. ⌘-click does the other.
  • Every Inbox card has a button naming where the agent runs ("iTerm ↗", "cmux ↗"…) that takes you there, to read more of the conversation first. ↩ does the same.
  • Settings keeps one size for every tab, so the window no longer jumps when you switch.

Settings in tabs, and a set-up guide for every app and terminal.

  • Settings is split into tabs: General, Appearance, Agents, Apps and iPhone, so nothing gets long.
  • Settings › Apps lists cmux, tmux, iTerm, WezTerm, kitty, Ghostty, Terminal, Warp, Alacritty, VS Code, Cursor and Zed, the Claude and Codex apps, and herdr: what AgentDock can do in each, the steps to set it up, and whether it's ready on this Mac.
  • Buttons there do the setup for you: turn on the Claude Code or Codex hook, ask macOS for permission to control iTerm or Terminal, copy kitty's two config lines.

AgentDock on your iPhone, anywhere.

  • The AgentDock iPhone app pairs with a code in Settings › iPhone and shows your agents and the Inbox: answer, reply, send next steps and undo, like on the Mac.
  • A relay lets the app reach your Mac when you're away from your network. Everything is encrypted end to end with a key that only lives in the pairing code, so the relay can't read or change anything. Enter its address in Settings › iPhone › Relay (how to run one: relay/README.md in the source).
  • Without a relay, the app and the Safari page work on the same network as before.
