DevWatch now updates itself.

  • Automatic updates. DevWatch checks for a new release shortly after launch and once a day, downloads it in the background, and installs it when you quit.
  • Install and Restart. Update right away from the menu bar or the settings. Restarting stops running development processes; with autostart enabled, the next file change starts them again.
  • Verified before installing. An update is installed only if its SHA-256 checksum matches the release and the app inside carries the DevWatch Developer ID signature, bundle identifier, and expected version.
  • Turn off Install updates automatically in the settings to install only when you choose. Updates need DevWatch in a writable location such as /Applications.

Coming from 1.1.0 or earlier? Install this version once by hand. From now on DevWatch keeps itself up to date.

Requirements: macOS 14 or later, Apple Silicon or Intel.
