v0.3.0
Capycal 0.3.0
Event window for every source
- days_past, days_future and all_events now work for CalDAV calendars and
feeds too, not only Calendar.app. A recurring event is copied as a whole
series if it might have an occurrence in the window, or one of its moved
occurrences does. - all_events is on by default for CalDAV and feeds, off for Calendar.app
(30 days back, 365 ahead), so existing syncs copy what they copied before. - Settings shows the window in the From step (Events: All / Range).
Daily full sync
- A full sync runs once a day, on the first cycle of a new local day.
full_sync_interval is gone.
Config file updates
- The config file has a version (version = 2). Capycal updates an older file
when it starts or reloads, keeps the old one as
capycal.toml.-.bak and logs what it changed. - --validate and --status never change the file. --migrate-config only
updates it, e.g. for a config mounted read-only in a container.
Calendar.app
- Copies to and from Calendar.app keep the event's URL.
- A title, location, URL or notes the source no longer has is removed from
the Calendar.app copy, as on a CalDAV target.
Desktop app
- Keep > Custom warns that a server may email the attendees when
Attendees or Organizer are copied. - The new sync assistant's third preset is called "Title and details".
Linux
- The system service runs as the user capycal instead of a dynamic user and
may update its config. The .deb and .rpm create the user and /etc/capycal. - The CLI is published as the image ghcr.io/twiebe/capycal.
Upgrading from 0.2
- Every sync runs one full sync after the update.
- System service (contrib/systemd/capycal.service): the user capycal
replaces the dynamic user. Hand the config to it once:
sudo chgrp capycal /etc/capycal && sudo chmod 1770 /etc/capycal
sudo chown capycal: /etc/capycal/capycal.toml
Without this, Capycal runs with the updated config in memory and warns. - Docker: the config is mounted read-only. Update it once with
--migrate-config (see the Docker section of the book).
