CreatorBase 2.2.3-vr.5 — universal OpenXR menu and controller shortcut

Choose a tag to compare

CreatorBase v2.2.3-vr.5

The full stationary OpenXR ReShade menu now supports DX11, DX12, Vulkan and
Windows desktop OpenGL, including VDXR and other OpenXR runtimes. The existing
SteamVR/OpenVR menu remains unchanged.

  • Press F8 or hold both thumbstick clicks for three seconds to toggle.
Vive wands use both trackpad clicks. Release both clicks before repeating.
  • Right-controller pointing/trigger selection and stick/pad scrolling remain.
  • The menu stays at its opening position and does not follow head movement.
  • Game buttons/movement, keyboard, mouse and XInput are blocked while open;
tracking poses remain active. Focus loss or menu failure restores input.
  • Deployment uses the existing capture API layer and the game-local adapter,
preserving graphics owners and avoiding a duplicate ReShade XR layer.
  • Vulkan/OpenGL transfer only the independently rendered panel image, with
queue/image/fence/context handling and correct channel/orientation conversion.
  • Includes late-XR deployment, explicit VR-Off configuration, controller priority
context handling, and original-sync fallback on input augmentation failure.

Repair/reinstall games from vr.5 to receive the new adapter and shared layer.
Close VR games before updating the shared layer. Keep the working DLSS/provider
settings; these menu changes do not add new foveation or engine-integrated AA.

Validation: 97 application tests, six VR/install suites, actual modified-ReShade
DX11/DX12 menu interaction/readback tests, real Vulkan/OpenGL upload/readback,
controller hold/priority/input tests, and actual capture DLL dispatch across
all four graphics bindings with exactly one appended quad. Archive version,
critical hashes, CRC and upload digest are verified before publication.

This is an experimental prerelease. New Vulkan/OpenGL and physical controller
shortcut paths still need end-to-end headset confirmation. Unsupported graphics
formats/profiles/layer capacity retain explicit fallback behavior.

CreatorBase 2.2.3-vr.4 — automatic NMS native DLSS and VR guide recovery

Choose a tag to compare

CreatorBase v2.2.3-vr.4

NMS installs with Deep Fried Chicken now automatically use the verified native
Vulkan DLSS mirror instead of synthetic Feeder evaluation. This packages the
same native-only configuration the user reported working perfectly, backed by
13,800+ delivered real-DLSS frames and successful DFC neural evaluations.
Enable DLSS or DLAA in NMS itself. No separate test script is needed after an
install or repair. Other games/providers retain their existing routes.

Also includes the fixes developed since vr.3:

  • Read actual submitted OpenXR D3D11 eye depth and normalize its convention.
  • Supply matching physical per-eye inverse-depth projection coefficients.
  • Reset Feeder history after VR focus/tracking interruptions even with valid depth,
then recover through current native output and a bounded current-frame fade.
  • Restore prior depth bindings after effects; do not retain stale bridge guides.
  • Repair conflicting duplicate configuration keys without erasing unrelated tuning.
  • Include whole-view spatial AA as a limited fallback; it is not engine-integrated
DLAA, and Nivalis testing found it insufficient for the remaining aliasing.

Validation: 96 application tests, six VR/install suites, actual NMS fresh/repeated
install and exact restore checks, OpenXR layer/pose tests, deterministic Feeder
history-reset tests, and WARP separate-eye depth/binding/pixel regressions.
Portable archive CRC, application version, critical runtime hashes and checksum
are verified. These tests do not certify every game or GPU/headset combination.

This is an experimental prerelease. Unknown layouts, missing guides and unsupported
APIs retain documented limitations. NMS's automatic configuration has installer
coverage; other games still need route-specific headset testing.

CreatorBase 2.2.3-vr.3 — VR recovery and compatibility diagnostics

Choose a tag to compare

CreatorBase 2.2.3-vr.3

This release includes the working Starfield native foveation and pause/loading recovery fixes, the full stationary OpenXR F8 ReShade menu, and compatibility diagnostics for new games.

  • Native D3D12 NR uses aligned per-eye crops, reduced center resolution, feathered edges, preserved compute bindings, and fenced history retirement. Size changes apply when sliders are released. Default center quality is 85%, with 10% edge fade.
  • DFC normalizes modified ReShade queue wrappers before its process-lifetime hook checks. This fixes the observed permanent neural disable after Starfield pause/loading; the user confirmed recovery.
  • Bounded native recovery retries an evaluation failure only after its recording and GPU work finish, with a five-second delay and at most two attempts per owning feature. Creation timeouts and unknown resource states retain the normal path.
  • Native image guides reject non-finite motion/jitter values. Existing viewport, format, resource-state, device, and stereo checks remain required.
  • The native headset panel reports recent activity per NR feature, eye count and image/center/work dimensions. Historical counters no longer imply current activity. Save compatibility report writes a diagnostic JSON next to the game executable; reporting adds no continuous disk writes.
  • Each managed install writes a restorable dlss5-compatibility.json with the selected route, common preset geometry, delayed-VR readiness, capabilities and limits. Auto mode prepares supported 64-bit DirectX installs for VR injection after launch.
  • Includes the previous unpublished OpenXR UI/controller, native crop, NMS Vulkan routing/device identity, Starfield scanning, and modified ReShade integration fixes since vr.2.

Validation: 91 application tests; six VR/install suites; NMS Vulkan installer; WARP pixel readback and GPU validation including 12 VR interruptions, bad guide input and fenced recovery; DFC executable patch tests. Actual NVIDIA NR tests cover separate/packed images, native/modified ReShade devices, 22 changing crop sizes, three NR features, producer-list rotation, binding restoration and GPU completion. These tests do not certify every game or GPU/headset combination.

Extract the portable ZIP fully, restart the swapper, then reinstall/repair existing game installs. It does not update a game while it is running. Keep the selected graphics API accurate. F8 opens the stationary full OpenXR ReShade menu; use the right controller to point/select, with gameplay input blocked while open.

Native D3D12 NR cropping is supported by qualified contracts. Native Vulkan and native D3D11 NR cropping are not implemented. Feeder D3D11/12 foveation uses its existing VR pipeline; Vulkan Feeder with DFC uses the private D3D12 crop bridge. Arrays, multiview, AFR, multi-adapter and unqualified buffer contracts are not claimed compatible. Native SR and DFC full-image conversion remain full frame. See COMPATIBILITY_MATRIX.md for tested evidence and remaining coverage.

This is a prerelease based on upstream v2.2.0, with fork additions; it is not an upstream v2.2.9 merge. All component credits and redistribution notices remain included. Complete reproducible source for the modified ReShade and inherited binary-modified engines remains unavailable; original-authored bridges and exact-build repair scripts are included in the source repository.

CreatorBase 2.2.3-vr.2 — experimental native DLSS VR foveation

CreatorBase 2.2.3-vr.2 prerelease

Native foveation added in this prerelease

Native DLSS installs now receive a dedicated D3D12 NR crop bridge and live Native DLSS VR foveation panel, without Feeder. Native SR remains full frame. The bridge preserves aligned guides/current periphery, feathers the border, separates crop histories and retains the full native path on unsupported buffers or NGX failures. Crop creation preserves the existing NGX initialization route. Existing native installs require repair/reinstallation; start with Balanced and check the active status/cropped-call counter and stereo-layout selection.

All 84 inherited tests, six VR/install suites and the native WARP fake-NR GPU contract test passed. The new native path still requires NVIDIA-model/headset testing; it is not universal game certification. Native D3D11/Vulkan, array/aliased textures and unqualified states retain full rendering.

Usage guide — also included as USER_GUIDE.md in the portable ZIP and as a separate download. Covers game selection, install options, flat/native VR/UEVR, ReShade controls, foveation, appearance and troubleshooting.

Complete additions and upstream comparison · File/payload audit. Both are included in the portable ZIP and available separately below.

This fork adds more than VR support:

  • Deep Fried Chicken: selectable native/Feeder provider, companion runtime/config installation, its 1–30 pass controls/presets, conservative shipped appearance settings, lifecycle v20 helper and No Man's Sky variant.
  • TRUE Neural Upstream: customized pre-SR chained 1–4 pass add-on (default 3), independent per-pass network controls, render-resolution ping-pong/barrier patches, Feeder SR configuration and separate NMS variant. The older GUI hint saying three evaluations describes the default.
  • Provider management: RenoDX/DFC/TRUE Upstream selector, actual installed-provider tracking, provider-specific config profiles, conflicts and managed switching.
  • Installer/UI alterations: evidence-based API choices, conservative Unity detection, actual-executable launch, payload/hash diagnostics and VR/foveation options.
  • VR/UEVR: modified ReShade 6.8.0.2 V19, OpenXR router/pose v2, submitted-image pose synchronization, stereo depth/projection/current-input helpers, D3D11/12 center foveation, current-frame compositing and headset native fallback/recovery status.
  • Stability/compatibility: UEVR desktop UI and validated D3D12 queue/device adaptation, matching missing Agility runtime deployment, temporal history/motion/depth settings repair with tracked backups and verification.
  • Distribution: offline fingerprinted v26.28 prebuilt helpers, native fixtures/regression scripts, licences/notices, usage guide and file audit. 84 inherited tests, the VR install/cache regression suite, WARP depth test and ZIP/hash checks passed.

Component authors retain credit for DFC/Neural Upstream engines and controls. Older AIO download helpers and Vulkan SR/NMS experiments are documented separately from active installation features.

Based on upstream v2.2.0, compared against v2.2.9 on October 8, 2026. Current upstream also offers multipass; it has newer components, its F8 overlay, community/chat, themes and fixes not merged here. This release is not a v2.2.9 build with all those features.

Extract the ZIP fully and launch DLSS 5 Swapper.exe. Reinstall/repair older games. Universal compatibility is not claimed. AFR, Vulkan VR and several layouts remain unvalidated or unsupported. Modified ReShade and customized Neural Upstream/DFC lifecycle binaries do not have complete reproducible source provenance in this checkout. See the comparison for component versions and practical limits.
