My Sample Renamer 1.0.1

Choose a tag to compare

@tylerwsupernor tylerwsupernor released this 23 Aug 20:50

Fixed

  • Renamed clips now use the current date as the MM.DD prefix instead of the hardcoded 08.18 left over from the 1.0.0 testing session (#1)

Changed

  • Removed a leftover guard that silently ignored the literal name New Sample

Install

Drag my-sample-renamer-1.0.1.ablx into Live's Preferences → Extensions page and restart Live. Requires Ableton Live 12 Suite Beta 12.4.5 or later.

My Sample Renamer v1.0.0

A personal workflow extension for batch-renaming audio clips in Ableton Live Arrangement View.

What it does

  • Renames clips within the selected Arrangement time range and track lane(s)

  • Applies this naming structure:

    MM.DD {Sample Name} br0 {number}

  • Numbers clips from left to right

  • Can be undone as one batch with Ableton Live's normal Undo command

Installation

  1. Download my-sample-renamer-1.0.0.ablx below.
  2. Open Ableton Live 12 Suite Beta.
  3. Go to Settings/Preferences → Extensions.
  4. Drag the .ablx file into the Extensions settings page.
  5. Restart Live when prompted.

Notes

This extension was built around my own sample-naming workflow. Feel free to fork or modify it to match your own naming convention.

It renames Ableton Live clips only; it does not rename audio files on disk, render, export, crop, or consolidate audio.
