Strip Silence v0.0.4-beta
Pre-release
Pre-release
What's new
This one is all tuning. After repetitive testing on real material, the built-in defaults changed:
- Threshold stays at -60 dB (unchanged).
- Head pad is now 0 ms instead of using the safety padding. At -60 dB the cut already lands right where each sound starts, and testing showed even half a sample of extra lead-in made no difference.
- Tail padding still falls back to the 25 ms safety padding.
If you have a .strip-silence.json, it still wins on any setting it mentions; anything it leaves out falls back to these values. No config file needed.
Everything else is untouched: detection algorithm, the Strip Silence Edit dialog, single-undo behavior.
Known issues
- If your selection starts exactly where a clip starts (no time selected before it), a few milliseconds of silence can remain at the very start of the selection after stripping. Workaround: extend the selection slightly before the clip and re-run.
