Releases: typedev/affinity-infinity
Release list
v0.3.1
v0.3.0
v0.3.0: docking studio panels (Wine 11.12-ai2), no Selawik download
v0.2.1: clean up leftovers across updates
Fixes
Leftovers no longer pile up across updates:
- Only the last two msiexec logs are kept (one was added per Affinity install or update).
- Archives of older AffinityPluginLoader versions are removed.
- Installing a Wine runtime into the data dir (
setup --wine, legacysetup --from-appimage) removes the older runtimes.
The AppImage self-update, the Affinity MSI rotation (installed + previous) and the font manager's temporary files already cleaned up after themselves.
Runtimes and backups left by earlier versions are not removed automatically; ~/.local/share/affinity-infinity/runtime/ is not used by the AppImage (it has its own Wine) and can be deleted.
v0.2.0: font manager
Font manager
Choose the fonts Affinity sees — made for testing fonts in real designs.
- Affinity Fonts window (new menu entry, or
fonts --gui): My Fonts is a library of font files you drop onto the window. Files are referenced where they are, not copied. Switch a font or a whole family on or off and Affinity's font menu follows while it runs, within about a second; a font file rebuilt in place is reloaded, so open documents are redrawn with the new version. Every face has a sample line (text, size, white/black background adjustable); variable fonts, missing files and clashes with system fonts are marked. - System fonts (Linux/fontconfig, the Wine prefix, Wine itself) can be disabled too, from the next start of Affinity. The fonts Affinity's interface needs are locked.
- Restart Affinity closes it like its close button (it asks about unsaved documents) and starts it again, with progress shown in the window.
- Affinity finds fonts by PostScript name, so enabling one version of a font disables the others with the same name.
- Command line:
fonts list|add|enable|disable|remove,fonts list --all --tsv,restart.
How it works: under Wine each process has its own GDI font table, so a plugin (FontSync, loaded by AffinityPluginLoader and compiled on your machine with the prefix's .NET compiler) adds and removes the fonts inside Affinity and sends WM_FONTCHANGE. Details in the README.
The window needs Python bindings for GTK 4.12+ and libadwaita 1.4+ (preinstalled on GNOME; Debian/Ubuntu: python3-gi gir1.2-gtk-4.0 gir1.2-adw-1).
Fixes
- A second
runwhile Affinity is already running (e.g. a document opened from the file manager) no longer waits forever for the Wine session. - Running with a separate data dir (
AFFINITY_INFINITY_DATA) no longer rewrites the user's menu entries. lib/rename-font.pynow also renames the PostScript name when the old family name contains spaces.
