ANDROID BUILD

Your assets folder reaches the APK again. If the folder was not registered as a source root (a project made outside CodeAssist, imported, or unzipped), everything in src/main/assets was silently dropped and the app crashed on its first AssetManager.open with a green build behind it.
Product flavors now build properly. A flavor's src/<flavor>/assets, res, java, jniLibs and aidl were invisible to the build even in a brand-new project, so a flavor variant shipped without its own resources.
Both fixes apply to the .aab as well as the APK.

EDITOR

Holding Enter in a large file is roughly 10x cheaper. Inserting a line used to rebuild the coloring data for every line in the file; measured on device, one newline went from 0.309 ms to 0.031 ms, and garbage collections over 300 newlines from 37 down to 3.
Scrolling arrives warm. The text just past the top and bottom of the screen is prepared once the scroll settles, so the next flick lands on text that is already laid out. It deliberately does nothing during a fling, where it would only compete with the frame being drawn.
Repeated lines are shaped once. About a quarter of the lines in real source are identical to another line (blank lines, }, )), and each used to be measured from scratch on the way onto the screen.

PROJECTS STORE

Publish a new version of a project you already published. The submit form now asks whether you are creating a new listing or adding a version to one of your own. Before, every submission tried to create a new listing and a second attempt at the same project simply failed.
Signing in with GitHub survives a restart. The session is now stored on the device instead of only in memory, so the store no longer opens signed out every launch.
That stored sign-in is sealed with a key from your device and is now excluded from backups, so restoring onto a new phone asks you to sign in cleanly instead of failing to read a credential it could never open.

DEPENDENCIES

Maven Central search works for everything again. org.mozilla:rhino and friends returned nothing while androidx searches kept working: the old search host had stopped answering ordinary picker traffic. The picker now queries central.sonatype.com.

LANGUAGES

Logs, build output, diagnostics and the formatter preview stay left-to-right in Arabic and other right-to-left locales. The rest of the app still mirrors as it should; these views print machine output in columns, and mirroring made stack traces unreadable.

ADS

The daily challenge tab and store listing pages now carry a native ad slot, placed below the content rather than above it. Ads are still free to turn off in Settings, under Privacy & Data.
