First release of light-translator. Offline text translation for the Light Phone III using NLLB-200.

Installation

Download light-translator-1.0.0.apk below and sideload, or add this repo to Obtainium for automatic updates.

First-time setup

On first launch, the app will prompt to download the translation model (about 1.5 GB). Please note:

  • The download takes around 5 minutes on a stable Wi-Fi connection, sometimes a bit longer
  • Keep the phone awake during the download. If the screen turns off or the app is backgrounded, the download can pause or fail entirely, which may require you to restart the process

Once the model is downloaded, translations work fully offline.
