I’m happy to share the first public release of FrogR8 – a minimal Retro8-libretro port for PSP.

This is a lightweight, fast, and simple Pico-8 runtime designed specifically for the PSP.
FrogR8 is based on the Retro8 libretro core, tuned for real hardware. It focuses on older Pico-8 titles, making it perfect for classic carts and small fantasy console games on the go.

Unlike other ports, FrogR8 delivers the libretro experience without the full RetroArch overhead, keeping things smooth and PSP-friendly.

✨ Features

  • 🎮 Save states
  • ⏪ Rewind
  • ⏩ Fast forward
  • 🎨 Scaling & filters for a crisp or retro look
  • ⚡ Optimized MIPS32 runtime for smooth playback
  • 🕹️ Controller-friendly Pico-8 button mapping

⚠️ Please note: FrogR8 is best suited for older Pico-8 titles. Newer or resource-intensive carts may not run properly due to PSP hardware limits.
