uDPRE 0.3.0 — mod pack options

Game base v1.2.3 (same game player as 0.2.0).

Mod pack options

  • A mod pack can now offer options: when you tick such a pack in the Mods box, its choices open right under it (for
example a mod released in several versions). Pick one and press Apply. Unticking the pack closes them again.
  • Changing the pick later redoes only the files it touches, usually in a second or two. uDPRE remembers your pick while the
    pack is off.
  • A pack can now ask for a minimum version of another pack. If one of your packs is too old for it, uDPRE names the pack to
    update instead of converting.
  • The pack list scrolls when it gets long, and a message about the mod choice now has its own line, so it is never cut off.
  • From a command prompt: uDPRE.exe mods lists each pack's choices, and uDPRE.exe convert --options PACK.OPTION=CHOICE
    picks one.

Packs that use options need uDPRE 0.3.0 or newer; uDPRE 0.2.0 says so instead of using them. Every other pack works with
both versions.

Updating from 0.2.0 or 0.1.0

Unzip this release over your uDPRE folder and start uDPRE.exe. Your converted game, your mod choice and your saves are
kept; from 0.1.0 it first updates the player files (a few seconds), then press Play.

Notes

  • No game data is included (release audit: 0 problems).

uDPRE 0.2.0

@u2-bot u2-bot released this 22 Oct 13:13

uDPRE 0.2.0 — mod support

Game base v1.2.3. The player now carries the latest uDPR game fixes, including the 16:10 battle HUD fix (the window
shows the base version at the bottom left).

Mods

uDPRE can now convert mods together with your dump, so Luminescent Platinum and its add-ons work on a uDPRE folder.

  • Put uDPRE mod packs into the new mods folder, tick them in the Mods box, press Convert (or Apply).
  • uDPRE does not include any mod pack. Look for uDPRE mod packs online, or ask someone who already has them.
  • Luminescent Platinum: you still need the original Luminescent Platinum 2.2F download (Brilliant Diamond) from Team
Luminescent. Extract it with 7-Zip into the mods folder, or point uDPRE at it with Find a mod download.... uDPRE checks
every file of it before converting.
  • Packs that need each other turn on together; packs that cannot be combined turn each other off.
  • Changing the mods later redoes only the files the change touches; unticking every mod gives the unmodded game back.
  • Luminescent keeps its saves apart from the unmodded game.
  • Patches made for other PC builds (folders copied over a game folder) do not work on a uDPRE folder — they break the
game's graphics (pink materials). Use the uDPRE pack of a mod instead.

See the README's Mods section for details.

Updating from 0.1.0

Unzip this release over your uDPRE folder and start uDPRE.exe once: it updates only the player files (a few seconds),
then press Play. Your saves are not touched.

Notes

  • A mod's VP9 movies are re-encoded for Windows during the conversion with libvpx (BSD-3-Clause), now shipped in
    udpre_runtime/vpx — see THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md.
  • No game data is included (release audit: 0 problems).

uDPRE 0.1.0

First release.

Play your own Pokémon Brilliant Diamond on Windows: unzip, start uDPRE.exe, pick the folder of your dump (Brilliant Diamond with the v1.3.0 update, extracted - the folder that holds romfs), press Convert, then Play. Conversion takes about a minute on a fast desktop. The zip contains no game data; everything game-related comes from your dump.

Needs Windows 10/11 64-bit, a DirectX 11 graphics card, about 7 GB of free disk space and 8 GB of RAM recommended. Shining Pearl is not supported yet.

Updating later: unzip a new release over your uDPRE folder and start uDPRE.exe once - it remakes only what the update changed.

See README.md for saves, settings and troubleshooting.
