Lost the ability to log in to a second user account

Hi folks,

I'm still pretty new to the Fedora world. I was an Ubuntu user for close to 20 years.

I have two user accounts on my Aurora box, one (the primary) for personal use, the other for a home business. I just tried to log in to the business account from the KDE login screen. My password was rejected many times. I tried rebooting. Nothing changed. I logged back in to my primary account, re-entered the password, logged out, and tried again to get into the business account. Still no luck.

I would appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks!

Let me clarify. I have logged into that secondary account from Aurora many times in the past. Something changed in the past two weeks.

I experimented with a version rollback. I need to raise a bug.

My current Aurora version is 43.20260414 (was there no update on 04-21 this week?). My rollback version is 43.20260408.1. On the rollback version, logging in to multiple accounts from the GUI works as expected. On the current version, the GUI only lets you log in to the last account you used.

Can you log into the user with su or from the tty?

Thanks, I didn't even think to try su. I don't think that I've used it in over 30 years, almost certainly never on Linux.

Yes, I can log in to the second account using su from a terminal in the primary account. I had to push Enter a second time after entering the password to get a prompt, but otherwise everything seems to work.

This suggests that the problem is connected to the KDE login page.

@renner0e I see that you found my issue report. I'll pick up the discussion over there. I am just starting with troubleshooting Fedora, and I'll be asking a lot of simple questions until I get up to speed.

I didn't get the 04-21 release, why not? Is my auto-update broken? I'm starting to get the sense that the 04-14 release is broken in more ways than one, at least on my system.
