No Bluetooth Devices Detected

Hi there,

I've built a new computer with dualbooting Win11 and Bazzite. I cannot get Bazzite to detect anything Bluetooth, whereas with the same antenna and hardware Windows can see them, plus my neighbours devices.

Bluetooth Power, Pairing, Discovery are all on. System updates are up to date. Whenever I enter 'bluetoothctl scanon' or use the Bluetooth UI on the startbar there are no devices found, even though I have three pairing right beside antenna. When I flip to Windows, they are all visable.

What did you expect to happen?

I expected Bluetooth to find my pairing devices after scanning.

I also have that issue, quite annoying to not be able to use a bluetooth controller on a gaming centric distro :p

So little update, I went and checked my journalctl for errors, and I'm getting this when the bluetooth service starts :

Same issue, (bazzite 42, kde 6.3.4). Could not find and pair Logitech MX Master 3 with bluetoothctl or the bluetooth UI. Though, I was eventually able to pair it using Solaar and the Logitech dongle. Also tested with Sennheiser Momentum 4 and was able to successfully find and pair that through the bluetooth tray icon.

Hi, I’m having issues using a USB Bluetooth dongle on Bazzite.

The adapter is:

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)

Things I have already checked:

The service is active:

systemctl status bluetooth → active (running)

The dongle appears in lsusb.

The btusb module is loaded and I tried:

sudo modprobe -r btusb

sudo modprobe btusb

From bluetoothctl:

The list command shows no adapters.

power on, scan on and devices do not show anything.

From what I understand, the kernel detects the dongle as a problematic “CSR clone” and in the end the HCI interface becomes unusable: the service is running, but bluetoothctl list does not show any device and the KDE settings say “Bluetooth is disabled” and do not allow enabling it.

Is there any supported workaround on Bazzite/Fedora for this type of CSR dongle (0a12:0001) without recompiling the kernel, or is the official recommendation to use a different Bluetooth adapter with a better supported chipset?

Adding my voice to the chorus here.

Dual booting my system Windows 11/Bazzite. Devices can pair on Windows and they are invisible on Bazzite. I tried multiple headsets and mice.

I also get those errors in the journalctl

An update by my side, I upgraded bazzite version and now everything is working.
