Where is the file "gamescope-session" and how do I turn off read-only mode so I can edit it?

The file that's closest to what I need is located in /usr/share/gamescope-session-plus/

The file is called:
gamescope-session-plus

This has the exact line I need to edit:
--hide-cursor-delay from 3000 - 3 secs to -1 or some large number

gamescope-session-plus has this line with a variable that's editted later in the file.

I can't edit this file and the only solution I found was someone saying to create identical folder structure but in /usr/local/share and save the file there but that didn't work.

The issue is in dota 2 and few other games the mouse cursor disappears after 3 secs which normally wouldn't be a problem but i'm on rog with controller so the binds don't require cursor at all times and when it comes back it causes lag/stutter.

Hey mate,

From memory the usr folder is not editable. You can allow for a non-persistent overlay (a change over the immutable image) but this doesn't persist a reboot. Google ostree admin unlock (or rpm-ostree usroverlay)

It may be easier to just play this game in desktop mode if it works there.

Turning off "read only" can sometimes break things and is not supported.

You can edit this param via gamescope session configs, see:

There is no supported method to unlock the filesystem, nor will there be. You can make a custom image if you must edit this file.

So I created the folder and file ".config/environment.d/gamescope-session-plus.conf" in home, and added the one line "HIDE_CURSOR_DELAY_MS=10000" Restarted and it works perfectly. Thanks for the help!
